Can a Corporation be held liable for violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22?

Section 1 of the Batas Pambansa Blg. 22 states that, where the check is drawn by a corporation, company or entity, the person or persons who actually signed the check in behalf of the drawer shall be liable.

In Sps. Manalese v. Estate of Sps. Ferreras, the Supreme Court ruled that land buyers must verify ownership by checking the certificate of title and reviewing the records in the Registry of Deeds to avoid fraudulent transactions.
